7 Reasons To Write An Entire First Draft

Writer's Digest just posted an interesting article about why it's good to write an entire first draft before going back to the beginning to revise.

I don't edit as I go, but I do usually stop around 20K to evaluate if I'm on the right track. This is when I decide if the POV and tense are working and if I need to revise my outline. I don't change the words unless I've decided to alter POV or tense.

Good article. Thanks for sharing. I'd also add that its best to write the first draft in one attempt, without a massive break at any time - picking up the plot again later is harder than you'd think!

Makes sense to me, but I have trouble not correcting things as I go along. Really like the last one. I'll try to remember it will get better. Thanks.
